About Stefan Mair
Stefan Mair – Head Coach, HC Thurgau, Swiss National League
Stefan "Stef" Mair is from Bolzano Italy and was head coach of the Italian national team from 2014-2017. After a 14 year pro hockey career that ran from 1988 to 2002, Stef immediately joined the coaching ranks where he has been ever since.
Stef has been Head Coach of the HC Thurgau Lions (Weinfelden, Switzerland) of the Swiss League since 2016. In 2018-19 the Lions reached the semifinals of the Swiss League for the first time in 21 years. Prior to his current post, Mair coached the Schwenninger Wild Wings in Germany for three seasons.
